Message from Bernadette Wulf

Greetings!

I hope you are enjoying the height of summer if you live here in the Northern lands… or the depths of Winter in the South.

I know there is a lot of disturbing stuff going on in the world right now, but I invite you to take a deep breath and relax for a few minutes as you read through my newsletter. There’s a lot of good news here, and there are options available to avoid the harms that the bad news points out.

This month we have good news about the nightshade family. Tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, eggplant, tomatillos, goji berries, and okra are the most common ones found in our markets. Turns out that all the negative press they get is a bunch of hooey.

Ironically, eggs and poultry, though they get lots of positive press, turn out to be strongly connected with prostate cancer, and dairy is also implicated. Fortunately, there are plenty of good substitutes for eggs, poultry, and dairy products. I’ve created a whole web page to help you make the switch. Look for that link in the last article.

We also have good news about walnuts and how they can help keep our appetite under control. However, I had to include a warning about the dangers of all these electronic devices that bombard us with electrical signals day and night. Good thing there are some effective ways to protect yourself.

As always, I would love to hear what you want to read about. Feel free to send your requests, suggestions, questions, or any sort of feedback. I always appreciate hearing from my readers – Email Bernadette

To your health and happiness!

Dangerous WiFi and 5G Exposed

We are now surrounded with electromagnetic energy no matter where we go. It can cause symptoms ranging from headaches, nausea, dizziness, brain fog and heart palpitations – to brain tumors.

Find out how these frequencies can harm you and how to protect yourself. Listen to this excellent podcast to get informed.

Click the play button at the top of the article to hear this revealing podcast.

Podcast highlights include:
  • The immediate health threats of wireless technology
  • Dafna reveals a very personal story about how wireless (microwave) radiation destroyed her health.
  • An honest look at the real threat of microwave sickness for each and every one of us.
  • Action steps: What to do to protect your health.
  • The suppressed truth about 5G technology and what it will do to all of us – if we don’t stop it.
  • Action step: To get more involved – find out what to do next.

Gotta love the action steps! What good does it do to expose all the problems of the world unless we can actually do things to change them and protect ourselves? I use orgonite pyramids, a shungite pendant, and grounding technology for my electronic devices. It can’t hurt, and various studies show they all help to protect us from electronic radiation. Why not give them a try?

walnutWalnuts for Weight Loss

I love walnuts, but I had no idea they could help with appetite control. Not sure I’d want to put them in a smoothie, but I like the idea that they make us feel more satisfied after a meal. I find that is true with raw onions and garlic too.

Here’s what naturalhealth365.com has to say about walnuts:

Participants reported feeling less hungry during the 5-day period when they consumed smoothies containing walnuts versus the placebo smoothies. The fMRI tests were administered on the fifth day and gave the researchers a clear reason why.

While in fMRI machine, study participants viewed images of desirable foods, neutral objects and less desirable foods. When viewing highly desirable foods after the 5-day walnut-rich diet, fMRI imaging showed significantly increased activity in the right insula, the center for cognitive control and satiety.

This indicates a feeling of fullness and reduced cravings.

The researchers plan to test different portion amounts of walnuts going forward as well as other foods for their satiety quotient. This research could lead to new, effective treatments for obesity and weight management. Meanwhile, you may want to consider making walnuts a daily snack to help control cravings – if needed.

Walnuts even contain some Omega 3 fatty acids. Throw in a few organic bittersweet chocolate chips, pumpkin seeds, and dried cranberries or raisins and you’ll have a heavenly, healthy trail mix!

Healthy nightshades may prevent Parkinson'sAre Nightshades Really Dangerous?

It is popular these days to blame nightshades for a number of ills, particularly arthritis. However science does not back up those claims. Though it is possible to be allergic to one or more of the nightshade family of vegetables, it appears that nobody is allergic to all of them. From superfoodly.com:

In short, the chances you are allergic to one are rare to begin with. The chance that a person is allergic to every Solanaceae species has not been recorded in medical literature to date. You would be the first of 7 billion.

Another rampant theory going around is the anti-lectin hype. Since every food on the planet contains lectins (and they are mostly destroyed by cooking, anyway), it seems absurd to worry about them at all. The superfoodly article addresses this too:

If you want to go on a lectin-free diet, you would be limited to water and air since all foods contain lectins. Potatoes and other nightshades are unfairly demonized for having them, probably because they were among the first foods in which scientists discovered them.

Then there is the arthritis argument. Nightshades frequently get blamed for causing arthritis, though:

Mark Erwin, an assistant professor of orthopedic surgery at the University of Toronto who actually specializes in arthritis told this to Reader’s Digest (22): “I’m not aware of any studies in peer-reviewed journals that prove or disprove that they affect arthritis.”

Sounds like more studies need to be done on that one, but it sure looks like it’s not a problem either. If in doubt, keep a food journal for a few weeks and note what you ate in the days before arthritis flares up. Most likely, your arthritis is caused by liver congestion from too much processed junk food, fat, sugar, gluten, eggs, meat, and dairy, and/or viruses in your system (that can be controlled by eliminating the foods I just mentioned).

The good news is that nightshades have lots of health benefits, including: reducing risk of Parkinson’s Disease, lowering cholesterol, preventing atherosclerosis, and lowering cancer risks.

eggs and poultry prostate cancer linkEggs & Poultry Offenders in Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men. About 80 percent of men who reach the age of 80 will have cancer cells in the prostate, but you can reduce those odds significantly by changing your diet.

Harvard University researchers followed more than a thousand men with early-stage prostate cancer for several years. Compared with men who rarely ate eggs, men who ate even less than a single egg a day appeared to have twice the risk of prostate cancer progression, such as metastasizing into the bones. The only thing potentially worse for prostate cancer than eggs was poultry: Men with more aggressive cancer who regularly ate chicken and turkey had up to four times the prostate cancer progression risk. On the other hand, less than a single daily serving of cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, or kale may cut the risk of cancer progression by more than half.

Share this article with all the men in your life (and of course the women too). The article goes on to say:

Dairy, too, appears to play a role. A 2015 meta-analysis found that high intakes of dairy products—milk, low-fat milk, and cheese, but not nondairy sources of calcium—appear to increase total prostate cancer risk.

It is getting pretty obvious, as all these studies come to light, that eggs and dairy are particularly harmful for everyone. Looks like poultry is pretty bad too (and pork of course). Get them out of your diet and your body will thank you.
