Greetings,
Happy Lughnasadh! It’s the celebration of the first harvest of the year that happens around the first week of August.
I’ve been harvesting lots of veggies from my little garden and enjoying the fruits of the Earth. Abundance seems to be everywhere. I hope it is for you as well.
What I’ve been up to…
The archangels have been asking for their time in the spotlight, so I’ve planned a new workshop to connect with them, called Archangels of the Four Directions.
Who are they? What is their connection with the directions? And how can we connect with them to uplift and heal our lives?
We will be finding out together as we meet them in four guided shamanic journeys. It’s happening on August 11th while the 8-8 Lion’s Gate energies are still strong. Should be a potent experience!

There’s still time to get a review copy of my novel, House of Mirrors, for the next week or two if you are willing to write a review on Amazon (I’m hoping at the end of this month). Here’s where you can get your PDF copy.
I’ve been getting some wonderful and very helpful feedback from beta readers and have made some minor, but important changes based on their input. So far, people are telling me they love it!
My other exciting fun thing is creating what I call Visual Permission Slip Portraits like this one I made of myself. I find that they really help uplift my energy and program my subconscious for success.
You can get one too! Right now I’m offering a very special discounted deal, so jump on it if you are interested. (They make excellent gifts too!)

On the health front, I found some cool articles on protecting your brain with selenium, a couple of nasties to watch out for (sodium benzoate and xylitol), some very helpful info. on listening devices, and some good news about quinoa.

Brazil Nuts for Brain Health
Selenium is an essential mineral that can be hard to get… unless you regularly eat Brazil nuts. Just one nut a day can supply all the selenium you need to protect your brain and support your immune system.
NOTE: Do not exceed four Brazil nuts per day — too much selenium can be toxic!
From naturalhealth365.com:
[ ] preliminary studies have suggested that selenium deficiency causes brain inflammation. Conversely, animal studies have shown that increasing intake can reduce the accumulation of harmful tau and beta-amyloid proteins linked with Alzheimer’s disease. [ ]
Another study published in the European Journal of Nutrition showed that supplementing with a single selenium-packed Brazil nut improved verbal fluency and mental function in patients with mild cognitive impairment. However, other research has shown mixed results, and more studies are needed.

Dangers of Sodium Benzoate
Sodium Benzoate is a TOXIC food preservative, used in many popular foods, that can cause DNA damage and cancer.
You may not pay much attention to it, since it is found in so many packaged foods — and in such small amounts. However, it is just one more of the hundreds of chemicals that assault your body on a daily basis. Add them all together and you have a toxic brew that can overwhelm your liver’s ability to remove them.
Here’s what naturalhealth365.com reports:
Did you know that a substance [sodium benzoate] used in paint strippers, rubber cement, and permanent spot remover has been used as a preservative in many popular foods (and beverages) for decades? [ ]
The danger of sodium benzoate to humans is that it deprives the cells of oxygen, compromises the immune system, and can lead to the development of blood cancer. It’s the cheapest mold inhibitor available, but it leaches essential nutrients in the body – causing and exacerbating neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
Read the ingredient labels of packaged food products and look for whole food ingredients that your great grandmother would have found in her pantry.
Xylitol — Not As Safe As They Claim!
Xylitol, also known as Birch Sugar, has been hailed as a healthy alternative to white sugar, but recent studies show otherwise.
Not only is Xylitol extremely toxic to dogs, it seems to be dangerous for humans as well.
From newsroom.clevelandclinic.org:
Cleveland Clinic researchers found higher amounts of the sugar alcohol xylitol are associated with increased risk of cardiovascular events like heart attack and stroke.
[ ] Xylitol is a common sugar substitute used in sugar-free candy, gums, baked goods and oral products like toothpaste. Over the past decade, the use of sugar substitutes, including sugar alcohols and artificial sweeteners, has increased significantly in processed foods that are promoted as healthy alternatives.
The same research team found a similar link between erythritol and cardiovascular risk last year. Xylitol is not as prevalent as erythritol in keto or sugar-free food products in the U.S. but is common in other countries.
Xylitol appears to be safe for use in toothpaste and other oral health products where you don’t swallow it, but otherwise you may want to steer clear of it — and all the other fake sugar alternatives out there. Too bad for the Keto folks!

Ear Buds vs. Headphones
Here’s something that never occurred to me: sharing earbuds can cause ear infections. If you’ve ever had an ear infection, you know you don’t want to repeat that experience!
From thehealthy.com:
[ ] you should never share your earbuds with anyone. “You are introducing new and more numerous amounts of bacteria into your ear,” says Abbas Anwar, MD, board-certified otolaryngologist at Pacific Neuroscience Institute. “Also,” Dr. Anwar adds, “you probably don’t know if your friend has kept their earbuds clean. They can pick up all sorts of bacteria from different surfaces such as tables and purses, and these new ‘foreign’ bacteria can lead to infections in your ear.”
There are lots of great tips in this article, including the following:
[ ] Another expert suggestion is to follow what some experts call the “60/60” rule: Use earbuds for no more than 60 minutes at a time and keep the volume under 60% of the maximum. After that, take at least a 60-minute break before using them again.
If you or your kids frequently use earbuds or earphones, please check out the article and find out how to protect your ears from temporary or permanent damage.
Quinoa & Triglycerides
I love it when Dr. Greger posts a blog, so I don’t have to sit through yet another video to get the information. I’d much rather read and it takes a lot less of my time.
So here’s what he has to say about quinoa, from nutritionfacts.org:
[Quinoa] has a lot of vitamins and minerals, but so do all whole grains. It also has a lot of protein. As you can see [ ] in a series of graphs starting at 1:05 in my video Benefits of Quinoa for Lowering Triglycerides, quinoa has more protein than other grains, but since when do we need more protein? Fiber is what we’re sorely lacking, and its fiber content is relatively modest…
[ ] When researchers gave participants about a cup of cooked quinoa every day for 12 weeks, they experienced a 36 percent drop in their triglycerides. That’s comparable to what one gets with triglyceride-lowering drugs or high-dose fish oil supplements.
That’s pretty impressive!
Even though most of us humans already get a lot more protein than we need, it looks like there are plenty of other benefits to eating quinoa. It is also a great addition to homemade dog food, since dogs need a lot more protein than we do.
Personally, I like to cook it half-and-half with millet. I think it’s an improvement over both on their own, flavor and texture wise.

New Earth Ambassador — Sharing Health, Wealth & Faery Magic to Uplift the World!
What I love best is creating opportunities for people to tap into the New Earth reality — a reality of harmony, cooperation and prosperity for all. I call it the New Camelot!
I still recall the thrill of discovering how to break through the confusion and angst of struggling in the old 3D Matrix. That’s when I realized I had found something far more valuable than money or worldly “success.”
So now I spend my time creating courses, blogs and tools to support citizens of the New Camelot in their ongoing quest for vital health, abundant wealth and the magic of the faery realm (which is woven into the fabric of the New Camelot like silver threads of wonder).
I am also passionate about protecting Nature, educating people about a healthy whole plant foods diet, artistic creativity, graphic design, connecting seekers with the faery realm, Celtic and Arthurian lore, writing, painting and gardening.
