Greetings,

Did you notice that my newsletter didn’t arrive in  your inbox at the beginning of this month? unfortunately, I got the bug — the nasty one that makes you cough a lot and wipes out your energy for weeks. But the good news is that I got over it and I’m feeling better than before. I feel like it purged a lot of toxins out of my system.

Confessions of a Closet Systems Buster

In the mean time, I did write a blog post that you might want to read. It’s about my secret life as a systems buster in a changing world. Check it out here: https://www.wulfworks.com/confessions-of-a-closet-systems-buster/

Other than that, people have been asking when I’m going to offer another guided shamanic journey workshop. One person even told me, “You’re the journey expert.” So yeah, I’m happy to announce I do have something in the works.

It’s called Avalon Faeries and the New Camelot and it’s happening January 21st. Find out more HERE!

On the Health Front

On the health front, we have a few interesting articles this month on the benefits of frequent sauna use, how to get mercury out of your body (the sauna can help with that, too), and the surprising cancer-fighting benefits of eating carrots.

That’s all all for this month, folks!

sauna benefits may include preventing dementiaSauna Use May Save Your Brain

One big thing on my wish list for 2024 is an infrared sauna. They are not cheap, but they are well worth the cost in health benefits. One of the most recent discoveries is their protective effect against dementia risk.

From naturalhealth365.com:

What the researchers discovered was eye-opening: the most frequent sauna users enjoyed a dramatic 66 percent decrease in their risk of dementia and a 65 percent decrease in Alzheimer’s risk – when compared to the weekly users.

That’s a pretty dramatic difference.

Another way to decrease dementia risk is to eliminate animal products and saturated fats from your diet.  See https://nutritionfacts.org/audio/how-to-prevent-alzheimers-with-diet/ and https://nutritionfacts.org/topics/dementia/.

Get the mercury out!Getting the Mercury Out

Mercury is one of the most toxic substances we are exposed to on a regular basis. How can we clear it out of our bodies?

Here are a few ideas from zonia.com:

Try chelation therapy. Chelation therapy is recommended for those who have been exposed to heavy metals or are showing symptoms of mercury poisoning. [ ] However, chelation therapy is a serious medical treatment with a number of risks and side effects. Consult your doctor to determine whether it’s the right choice for your current condition.

Eat more fiber. One study [2] found that eating wheat bran after exposure to mercury reduced the amount of heavy metal accumulated in the brains of rats. Though it didn’t reduce mercury in other tissues (liver, gut, and kidneys), it did act as a neuroprotective agent and reduced neurotoxicity.

Add a side of cilantro. Cilantro has been shown to increase renal excretion after mercury exposure [3], though it was only about as effective as the placebo used in the trial. Still, anything that helps your kidneys to excrete heavy metals is worth the try!

Change up your diet. Avoid seafood! Stick with lower-mercury seafood like sardines, cod, salmon, trout, herring, mussels, pollock, oysters, clams, and shrimp, and avoid shark, swordfish, tuna, and other high-mercury fish. Consider adding more medicinal, detoxifying herbs—like garlic, turmeric, milk thistle, gingko biloba, green algae, and phytochelatins—into your diet.

Avoid environmental exposure. Wear protective gear when handling chemicals, and be wary of any equipment that contains mercury. Avoid areas where you know mercury is present in the air or groundwater. Replace any old dental fillings (which were sometimes made of mercury in the amalgam metals) with new fillings that you know to be safe. [Unless you have a dentist skilled at removing mercury fillings, it is safer to just let them stay where they are. Consult a good holistic dentist before jumping into this, or you could end up with more mercury in your vital organs – Ed.]

Drink filtered water. Drinking filtered water will help you to avoid exposure to mercury via your city’s municipal water supply, which may be (knowingly or unknowingly) contaminated with trace (or higher) amounts of mercury.

Also, check ingredients in vaccines before agreeing to take them. Many contain mercury.

carrots fight cancerCarrots vs. Cancer

Who knew carrots were such a powerhouse of cancer protection?

From naturalhealth365.com:

The most impressive results came from a Lithuanian study in which roughly 1,100 participants ate between one and six carrots a week.  The result was a dramatic 47 percent decrease in the occurrence of stomach cancer.  Again, if these results were from a pharmaceutical drug, they would be reported on every mainstream media outlet.

In addition, researchers found that eating carrots reduced the risk of a particular type of stomach cancer – gastric cardia cancer, which affects the top of the stomach – by a substantial 38 percent.  The researchers noted a clear link between diet and stomach cancer, reporting that diets high in red and processed meats, salt, and alcohol increase the risk.

The article goes on to cover carrots and prostate cancer, among other things. Well worth reading.
