Big Change - Last Issue Unless You Resubscribe
|
IMPORANT READ THIS FIRST

Greetings!
NEW OPT IN NECESSARY if you want to continue receiving HealItAll Natural Wellness Newsletter.
This is the 6 Year Anniversary of this newsletter, which is great, but
unfortunately I've recently had some problems with this newsletter
program, which is why this issue isn't going out until August 3rd
instead of the first of the month as usual. So, I've decided to send my
newsletter out through AWeber in the future, because it has worked very
well for my other lists, though I don't like their templates as much.
Oh well, I'll just have to do my best with them.
If you want to continue receiving my newsletters, and I hope you will,
you have to sign up again using the handy form you will find by
clicking below where it says Sign Up For New Newsletter Here!
I hope to find many of you on my new list, but if you decide not to
join us, I just want to thank you for being a loyal subscriber in the
past. This will be the last issue for those who do not resubscribe. I
hope you found some good information over the years!
To Your Health!

Food Combining Made Easy
-
Have you heard the term "food combining?" It is all about eating foods
that digest well together so you don't end up with indigestion and
heartburn. The term has been around for a long time in health circles,
but it can sometimes seem to be quite a complicated list of things that
shouldn't be eaten together. However, it doesn't have to be
complicated. Here is some simple advice about avoiding the biggest
offenders, the worst of which are concentrated sugars and fats. Here is
what raw food expert Frederic Patenaude has to say about it"
"The main combination to avoid is sugar and fat. Sugar being any type
of sugar such as fruits, dates, refined sugar, or anything sweet. Fat
includes oils, avocados, nuts, and any other type of fatty foods.
"The reason is that fat takes a longer time to digest, while sugar
tends to digest quickly. When the two are mixed together in sufficient
quantities, the sugar will ferment. Say hello to gas and bloating!" Who
wants that?
The next combination to watch out for is starch and sugar. Because we
tend to cook our starches (bread, pasta, pastries, potatoes), this will
not apply to a raw food meal.
"This combination leads to a lot of gas and fermentation. Examples
include: raisin bread, all pastries, all cakes, all cookies, and eating
sweets after a meal!"
Just following those two rules can make a big difference in your
digestion. Patenaude goes on to say, "You can understand the philosophy
and science of food combining by understanding one simple idea: it's
best to eat only one type of concentrated food at a meal.
"Concentrated foods include anything that's not a fresh fruit or
vegetables, or anything that's high in fat. For example, bread, meat,
potatoes, nuts, seeds, avocados."

Can a Vegan Diet Be Healthy?
-
More and more people are trying vegan diets these days for both health
and ethical reasons. Some people thrive on them and others lose their
health. The difference is in how one approaches the diet. Judith Zimmer
from High Energy for Life offers some excellent recommendations, the
most important of which is:
"Get a full complement of nutrients. People on strict vegan diets tend
to be deficient in vitamin B-12, iron, zinc, coenzyme Q10 and
carnitine, nutrients that are abundant in animal-sourced foods. If you
follow a vegan diet, it’s best if you work with a nutritionist to
ensure that you are getting the correct amount of these nutrients in
supplement form."
She also suggests replacing animal products with protein rich foods
like quinoa, nuts, seeds, beans and tofu, and avoiding those tempting
high-protein meat and cheese substitutes you find in natural food
stores made of soy protein isolate, TVP, and all sorts of other
concoctions that are neither whole nor natural foods.
Another common pitfall of the vegan diet is replacing animal products
with too much fat or starchy grains. Ideally, fresh fruits and
vegetables will make up the bulk of your diet, with small amounts of
raw fats from whole foods like nuts, seeds, and avocados. Beans and
grains are also wonderful in moderation, but they are not necessary for
a healthy, balanced diet.

How to DOUBLE the absorption of Omega 3's
-
Here's a cool way to get twice as much Omega 3 absorption, just take
your Omega 3 (flax, fish oil, marine phytoplankton) with a little
coconut oil. That what David Wolf says in this fascinating video. I
wonder if that is why coconut oil is so effective in treating
Alzheimer's disease. Maybe so.
Part two (you'll find the link below the video) is actually an entirely
different lecture by Dr. Daniel Amen, who is a leading authority on
brain health. It has nothing to do with the Omega 3 issue, but it is
also really interesting, and he's a great speaker. Well worth watching!

How Enzymes Might Help Treat Cancer
-
Pineapple may hold the key to curing cancer, or at least one of many
keys. From Dr. Mercola's newsletter: "...A handful of natural compounds
have been discovered, [ ] which exhibit an effect called 'selective
cytotoxicity.' This means they are able to kill cancer cells while
leaving healthy cells and tissue unharmed. This type of cancer
treatment is intelligent, targeted and will not result in the death of
the patient from 'collateral damage' in what is increasingly a failed
war not against the cancer being treated, but the patient's own
irreversibly devastated body.
"One such compound is bromelain, an enzyme that can be extracted from
pineapple stems. Research published in the journal Planta Medica found
that bromelain was superior to the chemotherapy drug 5-fluorauracil in
treating cancer in an animal study. [ ] What makes this impact
particularly impressive is that the bromelain worked without causing
additional harm to the animals. The chemo drug 5-fluorauracil, on the
other hand, has a relatively unsuccessful and dangerous track record
despite being used for nearly 40 years."
Unfortunately, it may be awhile before Americans benefit from these
discoveries. To quote from the article: "Now that we know this is
possible, systemic oral enzymes have been used to treat problems
ranging from sports injuries to arthritis to heart disease and cancer,
particularly in European countries. But most of the research has been
published in non-English language journals."

10 Life-Saving Blood Tests
-
Next time you get bloodwork done, you might want to ask for these 10
tests, particularly if you are concerned about heart disease. According
to BeWellBuzz.com: "Unfortunately, relying on total cholesterol, LDL
and HDL levels is often not enough to accurately assess your
cardiovascular health. Fortunately, there are newer, more effective
tests that can better predict your cardiovascular risk. These 10
lifesaving blood tests include:"
1. C-reactive protein (CRP)
2. Homocysteine
3. Triglycerides
4. Apolipoprotein B (Apo B)
5. Lipoprotein(a)
6. Very Low Density Lipoprotein (VLDL)
7. LDL size
8. Hemoglobin A1C
9. Fibrinogen
10.Cardiac troponin
For explanations of what each of these tests are all about, read the entire article. Your heart will thank you.
