Cell Phone Dangers, Earthing, Avocados, and Vegan Advantages

Greetings!
It is amazing how many things can go wrong in a day when you start out
in a grumpy mood. I won't go into all of it here, but today sure proved
that to me. I can blame my grumpiness on the mosquito that kept me
awake half the night. Yawn. One of the many harbingers of summer.
I also found it amazing that I actually enjoyed being grumpy, knowing
all the while that I was attracting all the things that went wrong. We
humans can be so perverse! The good news is that I could laugh about it
at the end of the day and move on. Tomorrow will be a much better day.
I can already tell.
How about you? Have you been maintaining a cheerful even keel? I
usually do, but I have to have my off days now and then I suppose, just
to I remember what it's like.
This month the theme seems to be inflammation. Each of the articles is
somehow related. EMFs from cell phones (not to mention lots of other
electronic devices) can cause inflammation, and grounding technology
can relieve it. So can avocados and a vegan diet. So this month's
newsletter appears to be more planned than most, but actually it was
all serendipity.
Inflammation is at least partly responsible for most degenerative
diseases, so it is certainly something to take seriously. I, for one,
am very happy to have the green light on eating more avocados!

Urgent Warning to All Cell Phone Users

If you haven't got this message yet, get it now. Cell phones can be
dangerous! Use with caution. You don't have to give yours up
completely, but you might want to get one with a speakerphone so you
don't have to put it up to your head. Don't carry it in your pocket.
Don't keep it near your bed.
Do I sound paranoid? That's what cell phone companies would like you to
think, but science does not support their side of the argument. See for

emanating from your cell phone, and she offers some pretty compelling
evidence on the dangers of cell phones.

Mind-Blowing Experiment - with David Wolfe

While were are on the subject of the dangers electromagnetic
frequencies from cell phones, let's look at one solution to the problem
of EMF pollution from all the electronic gadgets to which we expose
ourselves. I will give you the punch line right away, so you don't have
to spend time doing the research. It is all about earthing or grounding
yourself to the Earth. David Wolfe demonstrates a pretty convincing
experiment on this video, showing the difference between the electric
charge running through his body when he's grounded and not grounded.
It's a short video that is well worth watching.
It will make you want to run barefoot in the grass... or at least get
yourself set up with grounding technology (which you will find
available on the same page if you scroll down below the video).
Personally, I never work on my computer without using grounding
technology, and when I am at home I always sleep grounded. Not only do
I feel better about protecting myself from a lot of electromagnetic
radiation in my environment, I've also noticed that most of the
annoying aches and pains from extended computer use have vanished.
One interesting thing David pointed out is that grounding affects the
activity of the left brain, but not the right brain. Apparently, the
logical, rational side of our brain is disrupted by electronic static,
and grounding can bring it back to normal functioning. Makes you wonder
about all those school kids sitting under fluorescent lights all day.
No wonder schools are having such a hard time keeping the academic
levels up to previous levels! Getting them to take off their shoes and
run around in the baseball field might improve their grades a lot more
than sitting under fluorescent lights all day.

No More Guilty Guacamole

I don't know about you, but I love avocados. Turns out they are not
only tasty, but they have a lot of health benefits as well! According
to this cancerdefeated.com article, "This raw food is a complete
protein source, contains three times as much glutathione - a priceless
antioxidant - as any other fruit, and provides an entire RDA of healthy
fats." That is pretty impressive, but the article goes on to say that,
"Like olive oil, avocados boost your HDL (good) cholesterol level, and
can help protect you from free radical damage. This [HDL] cholesterol
also regulates triglycerides and prevents diabetes.
"A study published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal found
that a vegetarian diet that includes HDL-promoting fats can slash LDL
("bad" cholesterol) levels as effectively as statin drugs." That is
good news for heart disease patients, and there is more. "Studies show
that oleic acid — the primary fatty acid in avocados —
improves cardiovascular health. Many people now take omega-3
supplements to slash their risk of heart disease. Avocados deliver a
whopping 160 mg per cup of alpha-linolenic acid." There is even
evidence that avocado helps prevent some types of cancer. Not bad for
such a delicious fruit!

Vegan Diet Reduces Inflammation

If you have been considering a vegan diet, this could be the motivation
you've been looking for. From bewellbuzz.com: "According to a study
done at the prestigious Karolinska University, Sweden, by Dr.
Ann-Charlotte Elkan, a vegan diet can significantly reduce unnecessary
inflammatory responses in the human body. A study [was conducted]
consisting of 66 subjects suffering from rheumatoid arthritis, out of
which 38 subjects were placed under a vegan diet for three months, and
the remaining 28 subjects were placed under a balanced yet non vegan
diet.
"After a specific duration, the blood serum was analysed for the
compounds LDL (Low density lipopolysaccharide), oxidised LDL and
arthero-protective antibodies against phosphorylcholine (PCs). Elevated
levels of LDL and oxidised LDL are associated with induction of an
inflammatory response. Patients who followed the vegan diet showed
decreased levels of LDL, oxidised LDL and PCs.
"In conclusion, Dr. Elkan has confirmed that a gluten-free vegan diet
can induce changes that are potentially atheroprotective and
anti-inflammatory, including decreased LDL and LDL levels and raised
anti-PC IgM and IgA levels."
Even if you don't want to become a full fledged vegan, you might want
to take this experiment to heart (literally) and cut way back on animal
products and gluten. Your heart will thank you, along with your newly
flexible joints.
