Message from Bernadette Wulf
First off, I want to wish everyone in the war zones peace and prosperity in this challenging time. When will we ever learn? Sigh!
I’ve been scrambling for the past two days to get my newsletter out… not because of the news, but because I wanted to share my upcoming classes and that meant creating banners, landing pages, sign up forms and follow up emails. Whew – a day late, but I’m probably the only one who’s counting, LOL.
I found some really interesting articles this month about how good goji berries are for your eyes, the downside of olive oil, how magnesium can help prevent damage from EMFs, and Dr. McDougall’s advice on lowering your blood pressure.
Dr. McDougall is one of my go-to guys for accurate dietary information. He’s like a walking nutritional encyclopedia with over 40 years of clinical experience and a brilliant speaking career. His advice may sound contrary to what the mainstream media is promoting – but since when did the media ever get it right?

Dr. McDougall on Blood Pressure
High blood pressure is one of the most common and dangerous health issues in the Western World. Fortunately, it is usually quite easy to improve if you are willing to stick to a healthy diet.
Here’s what Dr. McDougall has to say about it:
The blood vessels must be made healthier and stronger, as soon as possible, so they don’t burst toward either the inside or the outside. They begin to heal as soon as the causative processes are corrected. Changing to a low-fat, no-cholesterol, low-sodium, high-potassium diet (in other words, to a starch-based diet) allows the blood to flow more easily within a few hours. In short, as soon as fats stop coating the blood cells and making them stick together. Spasms in the blood vessels also stop within hours. With such relief of sludging and spasms, the blood pressure often drops to normal in less than 48 hours.
In case you haven’t guessed, that means a diet based on whole plant foods with a minimum of fats like nuts, seeds and oils. Dr. McDougall recommends mostly foods like potatoes, sweet potatoes and whole grains (keep them gluten free if you have any health issues), plus a variety of fruits and vegetables.
McDougall is one of the most knowledgable health experts on the planet and quite an animated speaker. Check out some of his YouTube videos and you will be sure to learn a lot.
In forty years of clinical practice, he has been able to heal most his patients with this diet alone, though a few have needed additional pharmaceutical support. It is certainly worth a try before you resort to blood pressure medications.

Goji Berries to the Rescue!
Do you spend a lot of time looking at electronic screens? If so, goji berries may be just what you need to protect your eyes.
From naturalhealth365.com:
As it turns out, goji berries are extremely rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, a pair of natural plant pigments (or carotenoids). Lutein and zeaxanthin are concentrated in the retina cells, where they provide oxidant defense – meaning that they can protect against damage from harmful free radicals. In addition, lutein and zeaxanthin help to filter and absorb “blue” light emitted from smartphones, laptop screens, and TVs. (Let’s be honest – all too many of us experience substantial daily exposure to this potentially damaging light!)
I like to soak goji berries and keep them in the refrigerator for adding a bit of sweetness to salads or savory dishes, or to eat by the spoonful. I think they are delicious!
Also, it can really help to wear blue blocker glasses to protect your eyes from harmful blue light when you look at screens. I’ve definitely noticed an improvement in my eyesight since I started wearing blue blockers.

Is Olive Oil Really Good for You?
Much as mainstream media loves to praise olive oil, the truth is that they are not telling us the whole story. Though olive oil is a healthier option than most oils, it will still damage blood vessels and make your blood cells stick together, just as other oils do.
From forksoverknives.com:
[Dr.] Esselstyn wrote an editorial for the International Journal of Disease Reversal and Prevention outlining a range of studies that show oil consumption promotes vascular injury, including research published in 2000 that examined the post-meal impact of olive oil on the endothelium, a membrane that lines the heart and blood vessels and helps control vascular relaxation and contraction. The study found that meals prepared with olive oil reduced flow-mediated dilation, a measure of arterial blood flow, by 31 percent.
Another concern with added oil is its sheer calorie density and potential to promote overeating and weight gain.
In short, a little olive oil now and then probably won’t do too much harm, but it will still clog up your arteries, damage your blood vessels and contribute to high blood pressure. Is it really worth it?

EMFs & Magnesium
We’ve all heard that EMFs (electro magnetic frequencies) are harmful, but I have rarely seen a good explanation about why. This article really makes it clear.
It also shows why it is so important to make sure we get enough magnesium in our diets, or from a supplement – and why taking calcium supplements can be a very bad idea. Not only have calcium supplements been shown to cause arterial plaque, it sounds like calcium can also be a problem when we are exposed to EMFs. Read on to find out why.
From childrenshealthdefense.org:
Pall discovered no less than 26 bodies of research asserting that EMFs work by activating voltage-gated calcium channels (VGCCs), which are located in the outer membrane of your cells. Once activated, they allow a tremendous influx of calcium into the cell — about 1 million calcium ions per second per VGCC.
When there’s excess calcium in the cell, it increases levels of both nitric oxide (NO) and superoxide. While NO has many beneficial health effects, massively excessive amounts of it react with superoxide, forming peroxynitrite, which is an extremely potent oxidant stressor. [ ]
While making changes to your physical environment [to minimize EMF exposure – Ed.] is of the utmost importance, there are a few nutritional interventions you can consider to help protect your body from EMFs. My recommendations include:
-
- Magnesium — As a natural calcium channel blocker, magnesium can help reduce the effects of EMF on your VGCCs. Since many are deficient in magnesium, I believe you could benefit from as much as 1 to 2 grams of magnesium per day.
Since most people are said to be deficient in magnesium, a good supplement could make a big difference. I like magnesium glycinate best.

New Earth Ambassador — Sharing Health, Wealth & Faery Magic to Uplift the World!
What I love best is creating opportunities for people to tap into the New Earth reality — a reality of harmony, cooperation and prosperity for all. I call it the New Camelot!
I still recall the thrill of discovering how to break through the confusion and angst of struggling in the old 3D Matrix. That’s when I realized I had found something far more valuable than money or worldly “success.”
So now I spend my time creating courses, blogs and tools to support citizens of the New Camelot in their ongoing quest for vital health, abundant wealth and the magic of the faery realm (which is woven into the fabric of the New Camelot like silver threads of wonder).
I am also passionate about protecting Nature, educating people about a healthy whole plant foods diet, artistic creativity, graphic design, connecting seekers with the faery realm, Celtic and Arthurian lore, writing, painting and gardening.
