Message from Bernadette Wulf

Happy Halloween!Greetings!

It’s that spooky time of year again!

I think, because October heralds the dying of the year, they gave us Halloween to cheer us up! Boo!

Tomorrow, Oct. 2nd, is the kick off for our Magical Manifestation Mastermind Group for Women. There are only a couple more spots still open, so jump right in if you feel the call. Here’s the sign up page link – https://www.celticmysteryschool.com/mastermind-group/  (Please just ignore the “Not Secure” warning that may come up. I talked to my web host and they said it’s a bug in their system they are working on and not a danger to anyone else.)

By coincidence we have two articles on lymph this month and a couple of different perspectives on cancer. I love how it’s all connected!

And then there’s the keto warning that I feel the need to publish every now and then, just in case all the media hype has got anyone confused – not my readers of course!

Other than that, I wish everyone a wonderful October. Happy Halloween, Samhain and dive into autumn.

Have questions or comments? —>>> Email Bernadette <—<<< Please use this link and do not hit reply to this post, because I may never get your message that way.

To your health and happiness!

Bernadette Wulf

What if we’ve been looking at cancer all wrong?

That is what Dr.

  • Avoid mammograms and follow a strategy of “watchful waiting” if cancer is suspected.
  • Spend as much time outdoors and in the sun as possible, especially on the seashore; avoid air that is polluted with automobile exhaust. [Obviously not to the point of getting sunburned! – ed.]
  • Eat sulfur-rich foods [unfortunately, she lists several animal products that have been shown to actually increase cancer risk – ed.] as well as garlic, onions, and cruciferous vegetables. [We should be consuming these important vegetables every day for multiple reasons. – ed.]
  • Eat foods that contain “sulfate transporters.” These include polyphenols and flavonoids [widely available in whole fruits and vegetables, particularly herbs and spices – ed.], as well as vitamin C [she also lists cholesterol which has been shown to be very problematic when levels are too high. Your liver can make all the cholesterol you need, so there is no reason to consume it. If your cholesterol levels are too low, you can raise them by including coconut oil in your diet, which is much healthier than eating cholesterol directly from animal fats. – ed.] Buckwheat, ginger, wine, and turmeric [also] contain compounds that transport sulfate [but of course wine is detrimental to the liver and brain cells. [Also, I’m not sure why, but Anthony William does not recommend buckwheat for frequent consumption. – ed.]
  • Choose organic foods as much as possible, especially taking care to avoid foods exposed to the herbicide RoundUp [glyphosate]. That means avoiding all genetically modified foods [AND all non-organic beans, lentils and grain products that are commonly sprayed with glyphosate to speed ripening. – ed.]
  • Eat fermented foods to provide lactate to the bloodstream. [According to Anthony William, fermented foods have no health benefits, but it’s okay to eat them if you like them. – ed.]
  • Minimize exposure to toxic chemicals including those in sunscreens and antiperspirants, cosmetics, hair dyes, and pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Soak periodically in Epsom salts baths, which are a good source of sulfate [and magnesium – Ed.].

One thing for sure, avoiding glyphosate is a good place to start!

BTW, I’m not endorsing the Weston Price approach to diet. Though he had some good ideas and research, his conclusions do not align with the best recent information I’ve seen.

Keto Kills

The ketogenic diet is still going strong, regardless of all the studies showing how dangerous it is. If you missed all those memos, here is just one of many articles outlining the downside of keto diets.

From forksoverknives.com:

“The foods that are emphasized on a keto diet are the very products that cause colon cancer, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s disease,” says study co-author Neal Barnard, MD, FACC, president of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine and an adjunct professor of medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine. “New research also shows that these same foods raise the risk for severe COVID-19.”

I absolutely adore Dr. Neal Barnard who is not only a brilliant doctor, but is also a passionate crusader for compassion for animals. He is one of the researchers I trust the most, especially on the subject of diabetes and whole plant food diets. When he publishes an article or video, I sit up and listen.

build muscle with carbs & Vitamin DLymph – Chinese Perspective

One thing many people forget about when detoxing is that their lymphatic system has to do the work of carrying all those toxins out of the body. Unfortunately, it cannot do that unless you get up and move!

From chinesefoodreflexology.com:

The body’s lymphatic system does a lot of important things. It supports the immune system, and it also filters and removes cellular waste products. Basically, your lymphatic system helps to clear wastes and toxins from the body, and it helps your immune system fight infections.

So what exactly is it?

Let’s start with some anatomy. The lymphatic system is comprised of organs (spleen, tonsils, adenoids, and thymus), lymphatic vessels, lymph—a type of fluid that flows through the vessels—and lymph nodes.

This system is similar to the circulatory system for blood where you have arteries and veins throughout your body. The larger vessels branch out into smaller vessels until you get to the smallest level, which are the capillaries. At the tiny capillary level, plasma leaks through the capillary walls, and it’s then referred to as interstitial fluid. This is the fluid in the spaces between your cells.

Eventually, the interstitial fluid is reabsorbed via capillary-like vessels in the lymphatic system. Then the lymphatic system works like a network of canals, where it collects “junk” from the cells (e.g. waste byproducts from cellular activities), and shuttles the “junk” floating in the “water” through the canals.

As lymph moves through the lymphatic system, lymph nodes help filter out the “junk.” They’re like mini water filtration plants throughout your body. They pick out the “junk” from the fluid and also “treat it” with immune cells (like adding chlorine to water to kill bacteria). [ ]

While the lymphatic system is similar to the circulatory system for blood, there is ONE HUGE difference. The heart pumps blood through the blood vessels. But in the lymphatic system, there isn’t a pump to move the lymph fluid.

For example, raise your arm up in the air, extend it out to the side, bring it back over your head, and then lower your arm to your side. You just moved lymph fluid in your body!

As long as you’re moving and active, you’re moving lymph through the lymphatic system.

As you can see, your lymph system has a lot of work to do and it can only do it with your help – your active help! So bend and stretch, walk and dance. Jumping on a trampoline or rebounder is one of the best ways to get lymph moving, but even a one minute stretch several times a day will help.

Most doctors know little about nutritionLymph & Cancer

While we are on the subject of lymph, this article may give you more inspiration to get active and keep your lymph moving. Apparently, stagnant lymph is one of the big contributors to cancer!

From wisemindhealthybody.com:

Just think about it! Every cancer diagnosis comes with a lymph node biopsy. Why? The lymphatics are the leftover blood which covers every organ routinely on a daily basis. If it isn’t moving properly (like in most Western countries, due to the Standard American Diet), then toxins and cancer cells cannot be emptied into lymphatic ducts which eventually lead to the detoxification methods in the liver/kidneys.

Waste is then permanently disposed of by the bowels. These toxins fester in the system and are not recognized by the immune system in the lymph, but are still slowly exposed to organs where they “seed” that organ and cause metastasis.

I don’t know about you, but that sure inspires me to get up and move more often throughout the day. Read the article for a great list of things you can do to keep your lymph flowing smoothly.
